I made it!

Reporting from Mumbai...

It worked out to be a 26 hour trip door to door, not something that I recommend on a daily basis. Fortunately, I was able to use my miles to upgrade and had a fairly comfortable trip. For the last leg I flew on Lufthansa out of Munich. My seat had a weird hole, about the size of a cigarette lighter, on the arm rest. I figured that it was a hold over from a time when smoking was allowed. Nope, it's a flower holder, for a rose. How's that for opulence? I took a picture, but I'm not quite technically savvy to make it work yet - maybe tomorrow when I'm not so tired.

Flying over Mumbai, I was struck by how the skyline could have been any coastal city in the US. On the ground, it's a whole other story. The city has a decaying beauty to it, with some gorgeous buildings that are slowly falling into disrepair and being swallowed up by shacks built up around them. I'm looking forward to exploring tomorrow and starting to take some good pictures.
